Weekend Outings.
I have been hearing of my children's weekend outings weeks on end. Being in the mid sixties I have been thinking how necessary are these outings. Back in the time when we (my wife and I) were of our children's age weekends were a time for keeping up the balance of work at home or if not time for hobby. There were so many things to do around in the house.
Today seems to be the other way around. Too much commercialisation into our daily lives. Every thing is ready made (with a cost though) , thanks to the media (and yes they have to make money). If one has the time to think of it one always wonders. What is happening today to our youth. They are literally breaking their backs making money and for whom ?. One does not have time to do a decent helping of oneself at home. Being tired from work you land up buying off the shelf ( helping manufacturers) or going to the hotels ( aiding hotel industry -whatever they call it). No house keeping .. all material use and throw ( who makes money ? ) or make that a collector's item (?) . With all these alternatives one has no go but to make that little extra money ( and for whom ?).
On the flip side
Partners either married or live in do not have the patience to sit together and talk those sweet nothings. Come weekend one has to plan for some outings .. keeping both of them individually physically busy and tired that there is no time for arguments once they reach home.
Believe me at sixty five I was thinking some thing similar , how to keep my partner busy on an outing so that there is peace and calm in the house.
And lastly the word hobby seems to be on the horizon.
